The Big Man Turns One

We celebrated Mr. Miles' first birthday this past Saturday and I think we surpassed all of his wildest dreams for a first birthday:)

The planning started months ago. By planning, I mean I pondered over a theme and began pinning like a mad woman. Side bar....if you're not familiar with 'pinning' - stop over here and say good bye to valuable hours that will now be spent 'pinning'.

I landed on a Woodland Forest Animals theme and the rest, they say, is history.

The day was fabulous, the weather perfect and we were surrounded by lots of family that love our little man as much as we do. Thanks for all who celebrated with us!

'HELLO?!?! Is anybody home?'

You're probably thinking 'has angie fallen into a black hole?'....that is, those of you who still bother to check my blog are probably wondering it. But I have come out of my hole to blog and briefly update you as to why I have been an absentee blogger. Here is what has consumed my life and what I've been up to:
-Jay is finally wrapping up his reffing season. This is culprit numero uno that has been cutting into my blogging. You see, he reffed basketball most of the winter 3-4 times a week. I was happy if I made it through the day, let alone had time to blog. I have mad respect for all you single mothers out there.
-I am 5 weeks into a pilates class at the Y and loving it. Its over my lunch hour two days a week and I am def noticing some progress
-Stopped pumping 3 days ago and only do the occasional feeding with Miles here and there. I gladly welcome 2 1/2 hours of my day back, although i will miss eating like a horse
-Along the same lines, I have enough milk stored up to make it to Miles' first birthday next week. Yay me!
-Been busy with a living room remodel. Removal of wood burning stove, brick, old carpet and replaced with new carpet, new coat of paint, new base boards and a new pinterest inspired mantel. Pictures to come
-Also feverishly putting the final touches on party plans for Miles' 1st birthday party this Saturday
-Enjoying the lovely weather we've been having. So nice not to have to bundle up the kiddos these days.
-And the rest of my time is spent rearing children, working, cleaning, doing laundry, shuttling kate to gymnastics and trying to find a little time in my day to zen and focus on me....something I've failed to do for the past year or so....and it feels good.
